Review of HTC S740 Dual Keypad Smartphone

HTC has unveiled a new S740, a sequel to 730. The phone's prominent feature is the dual keypad. This a very new innovation by HTC which other companies havent tried out. You get a standard 12 keys on the frontend below the display and a QWERTY keypad as a slider. Thats a lotta input to the phone, right!

Another feature that stands out is the data connectivity speed offered by the phone. As we already know 3G speeds are 2Mbps for indoor and 384Kbps for outdoor services but the throughput varies on the brand service used. HTC speeds are top of the line speeds giving you over 7Mbps, look at that 18 times faster than 3G, now tell me isn't that some wacky speed!!!

As for the specs involved, it has a 2.4 inch QVGA display and a 3.2MP VGA camera. The phone comes with 256MB both internal and flash memory. It also has 2.0 Bluetooth and a 2.0 USB port. It is compatible with 802.11 b/g WLAN. Now isn't that a lotta 2's, i guess that's why its a dual keypad phone, Hahaha...!
Now coming to the OS, HTC is powered by Windows 6.1 running on Qualcomm MSM7225, 528MHz processor.

The phone is compatible with all the networks, you name it, and it is there, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA. Now that is some serious compatibility. Also it comes with GSM/AGSM navigation with built-in FM Radio.
It also gives 320 minutes of talktime and 400 hours of standby time.

Now for the cashroll involved, it is priced at $550 without carrier subsidy. This baby will be flying out around September 2008 in Europe.

For any other details please comment, I will be happy to answer.
