ASUS Eee Slate EP121 zoom in!

Asus recently released its Eee EP121 Tablet at the CES 2011. Running a mighty Intel Core i5 processor, Asus's EP121 gives you 'Intel HD Graphics' allowing you to watch all your favourite High-Def Blu-Ray movies on your tablet very smoothly.

Coming with a 12.1 inch LED-backlit 1080p HD Display, you can enjoy all your entertainment in high resolution. The splashy display is a Multi-Touch pressure-sensing capacitive screen offering a precisive drawing experience and an accurate handwriting recognition. With the promising Wacom digitizer technology you will feel as if you are drawing images on a real paper. Users of Asus tablet are also saying that the touch experience is incredible and support of pinch zoom makes the tablet stand out of the line. The tablet includes a stylus too if you need things to be done faster. Of course, with the latest launch of iPad 2 we were still curious if it would accomodate an Apple branded stylus, but i think Apple is still telling us to DREAM ON!

Oh, silly me i forgot the most important deal of the tablet i.e. the OS that power punches its customers. Yes it is the good old Windows 7. You must be thinking with the intel's hot i5 processor and the Windows 7 there must be a very limited battery power left with the device, but not to worry Asus tells us the Slate is going to withstand for a bang-on 8 hours straight i.e. for normal Office applications. The battery life may vary if you are using media consumption applications such as watching movies or playing games.
With the extra edge of Windows 7, you can also play some high-end games on the tablet. And a provision for extra slots and cooling vents makes the tablet run pretty silently too. Multitasking is made easy too, with the i5 processor you can now run your favourite applications side by side without any hiccups. Asus also supports many Windows 7 apps, thus gaining compatibility with productivity.

As far as the attracting features goes, you get a 64GB Solid State Drive. For people who dont know what a Solid State Drive is, refer to this article. Apart from that you get a 2GB DDR3 RAM which can further be expanded upto 4GB. Your tablet also comes equipped with a Mini HDMI port, 2.0MP Webcam, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Digitizer pen, a 2 in 1 Card Reader(SSD and MMC),  Internal Speaker with Microphone, Wireless 802.11, Bluetooth Keyboard and of course Bluetooth 3.0. Accessories include a Folio Case for transporting which also acts as a stand for a better viewing pleasure. Asus also provides a HDMI Cable Adapter with the tablet.

According to the latest pricing Asus Tablet is available for $1000 (accessories price not included). As of now Asus Eee Pad is officially released.

VERDICT: Well the cons are very few, such as weighing at 2.6 pounds it is a little bit heavy and priced expensive too. If you compare it to iPad 2 or Samsung Galaxy i think Asus gives you more features at hand. With the Microsoft's Onenote application Asus's tablet is gonna prove one hell of a combination. Asus completely replaces the notebook PC in terms of portability and potentiality. I give a YES to Asus Eee EP121. What are your thoughts? Please comment your ideas below!
