Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc unveiled at CES 2011

We all know Sony Ericsson is known for its sleekness and style. Infact, I myself withhold 2 Sony Ericssons for my personal use. Sony is well known as a trademark for its unique style.

Recently at the CES 2011, Sony Ericsson revealed its newest Smartphone, the Xperia Arc. After Sony's failure of the X10, this phone is looking to make a big mark upon the market.

Now the noteworthy features to look upon in this superphone are:

  • Slick looking thin ergonomic body
  • Mobile BRAVIA® powered engine for the crystal clarity display 
  • 8.1 megapixel Exmor™ integrated sensor for capturing high quality images



Let me briefly explain the features to you.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is an Android smartphone running a 2.3 Gingerbread OS. This phone is as slim as it can get, measuring at 8.7mm thickness and weighing at just 117 grams, this phone is going to look real tuf in the market.

phones, the kind that makes your hands slip off from the phone.
With the new generation, wanting a cute and small computer at all times in their hands, Sony Ericsson has made this fine masterpiece to fit comfortably into your hands making it very easy to hold and handle this phone. As a matter of fact, Sony Ericsson is claiming Arc to be the slimmest mid-section phone in the world.



The 4.2" multi-touch LCD screen powered by the BRAVIA engine of course, boasts of a Retina Display (similar to the iPhone's display) for viewing accurate, highly detailed crisp images on the screen. Having a resolution of 854x480, slightly lower than the iPhone's resolution, still promises to deliver beautiful, rich and vibrant images.




Another key feature worth looking upon is the camera. The 8.1MP f/2.4 lens has a Exmor R CMOS sensor to capture bright images even in low-light conditions. Also with the Auto-Focus, Face Detection and Image stabilizer, capturing photos with the Arc just makes it a lot easy. It can shoot 720p HD videos and share them on your favourite devices via the HDMI connector. The HDMI connector also comes with a HDMI cable allowing you to view realtime content from the phone onto the TV. So the next time you want to play games on your TV screen, just hook up your Arc and enjoy the entertainment.






Connectivity wise you get the HDMI, Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, aGPS and DLNA features. Arc will be on a 1GHz Qualcomm second generation Snapdragon processor having a 8GB microSD card included in the package. Although you can extend the memory capacity further upto 32GB max.

The phone is expected to release in April in UK. The price expected would be $617 in the US and Rs. 30000/- in India.
