How to view pdf txt word files on mobile

I have a Sony Ericsson mobile phone. Sometimes when i travel outside i want to read something useful rather than wasting my time. Phones which are not Symbian OS compatible often gives out "Unable to install App" errors while trying to install a new application. Believe me its pretty frustrating to be stuck in such situations. Sony Ericsson mobile phones (not smartphones) run on JAVA platform and are able to install JAR/JAD applications only. As we all know resources for JAR applications are limited on the internet.
